Note from Miss Mills-NMS Pageant Sponsor/Lead Teacher (See Below) Kella Battiste, Miss Newberry Middle School 2023, will be donating $1000 to an organization of her choice which will be announced next week. She had a wonderful morning interviewing various teacher sponsor of these groups to help her decide where the funds should go. She would like to thank all of teachers for their time today and all the hard work they put into these groups so that our students have the best experience possible. Kella will announce her decision next week. GO TIGERS!

Grants- Pictures Continued 5/17/23

5/17/23 NMS & NES Lead Teachers & Administrators took a road trip to Grants. What a fantastic evening. NMS brought Books, Games, & Pizza. In addition, footballs, basketball mini hoops, jump ropes, and other spirit items were given away. Thank you, NES, for bringing drinks! Thank you to Dr. Carla Cruickshanks who spearheaded this endeavor on behalf of NMS. (Well Done Dr. C.!) Thank you, Crystal Boyd-lead NMS Teacher for driving the activity bus. Thank you to SDNC District Office Officials, SDNC Board Members, and Community Leaders who participated in today’s visit to Grants. It was so much fun to work with Susan Dawkins, Principal at Newberry Elementary School & Sonya Robinson, Assistant Principal at Newberry Elementary School & lead NES Faculty & Staff to make this endeavor a success. We will certainly do this again. Proud of NMS & NES! Great Event!!!!

Teacher of the Year: Jennifer Brown Support Staff of the Year: Elijah Johnson "Mr. E." TOY: Miss Jennifer Brown serves as a NMS Related Arts Teacher (Business Education). In addition, Miss Brown is the Related Arts Department Chair, Lead teacher/instructor for the NMS After School Program (21st Century Program), serves as the coordinator of the PAWSitive Mentor & Mentee Program, & serves on the NMS SIC Commitee and School Leadership Team. Mrs. Brown also assists administration with duty rosters and has served on several interview teams at NMS. Miss Brown will be the lead teacher/admin. for 2023 Extended Semester. Proud of Miss Brown! Support Staff of the Year: Mr. "E" (Elijah Johnson) Mr. Elijah is the first employee on campus at NMS most days and he works each day to ensure all NMS students, faculty, and staff have a clean facility. Mr. Elijah takes pride in NMS and we are very fortunate to have him here at NMS! GO TIGERS!!!
