SGA had a great weekend at the SC Association of Student Councils state convention at Chapin HS this weekend. The council brought home several awards:

  • Gold Honor Council -- this is determined by a point system; councils can earn bronze, silver, or gold dependent on the points they earn from March to March each year; points come from basic practices such as communication, but a majority of them come from the activities the council sponsors over the course of the year between state conventions

  • Terry McCoy Hall of Fame -- Our SGA president, Zekiah Jeter, was inducted into this leadership hall of fame as recognition of her leadership, communication, and passion towards our organization; Zekiah was chosen by the council to be recognized at the state level.

  • 1st place in Recognition Projects -- NHS SGA earned first place in the recognition category for the snack cart and carnations that we distributed last spring during teacher appreciation week (similar to the one we did a few weeks ago)

  • 1st place in School Pride Projects -- NHS SGA earned first place in the school pride category for our first pep rally of the year which included senior sunrise, a summer themed dress up day, and a summer themed pep rally.

  • Mrs. Hartness was recognized for 15 years of service to the council .
