📌Bulldog Monthly Newsletter

Bulldog Built

From the Principal:

Bulldogs,

We are quickly approaching the end of the first quarter of the 24-25 school year (October 9th). Please be on the lookout for a report card from your NHS student. We will be honoring our A/B and Principal’s (all As) Honor Roll students after the conclusion of the quarter. The end of the quarter is also a great time to check in on student attendance. If your student has missed 5 or more days in any one class, it is time for them to begin doing seat time to get back on track. Seat time is free and is offered each Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday in the cafeteria from 3:30-4:30. Reminder that if a student misses 10 or more days he/she will not get credit for the course, even if they academically pass. Seat time will be required to earn the credit back.

In this monthly newsletter we will focus on College and Career Readiness. It is our goal that all students are College and/or Career Ready before they graduate. There are several ways a student become CCR (see below). NHS has improved its percentage of CCR graduates over the past few years. For the class of 2023, 53.8% of graduates were either College or Career Ready. Numbers are projecting (official numbers will be out in mid-October) that 75% of the class of 2024 were either College or Career Ready. NHS anticipates this number to continue to rise as we put a focus on ensuring all graduates have this honor.

As parents/guardians you can help support this goal by understanding what makes your student College and/or Career Ready. During IGP (Individual Graduation Plan) conferences with your student’s counselor, you will discuss numerous topics including College and Career Readiness. This is a great time to check to see if your student is on track for CCR.

Thank you parents/guardians/community for your continued support of our students’ success in and beyond high school!
